Kawsak Sacha: Selva Viviente - Selva Viviente and Kawsay Nianbi way of life for the common good and Indigenous Peoples' FPIC Rights

Indigenous peoples have knowledge and experience acquired throughout their existence on the dynamics of climate, biodiversity and natural resources in direct relation to climate variations. As a result of this capacity, they have developed exemplary models of good governance and productive activities that are friendly and sustainable for biodiversity in the territories. A clear example is the model "Indigenous Economy with Effective Governance of the Territory and Free of Deforestation", which is a climate initiative of community management of Amazonian forests and agroforestry, managed in a participatory and integrated manner of territorial/landscape development in six regions of the Peruvian Amazon, to reduce pressure on tropical forests, reduce deforestation and promote sustainable development and adaptation to climate change with sustainable economic productive activities with low GHG emissions, with a control and surveillance system in the territory and the application of indigenous governance focused on legal security, planning through Life Plans, positioning in decision-making spaces and the application of financing mechanisms.

Kawsak Sacha - Living forest: Living being, conscious subject of Law, is the philosophical proposal of the Indigenous Peoples, of Sarayaku and the Kichwa Nationality of Ecuador. We are working for the State to recognize the legal security of the territories of the indigenous peoples as they contribute effectively to climate change and that these territories of life, are perpetually free of any extractive activity, share to establish advocacy and promotion of local initiatives, as well as replicate the solutions of indigenous peoples to climate change based on the Sacha Runa Yachay, the knowledge and wisdom of the man of the jungle, thus seeking recognition of territorial legal security and present the financing mechanisms built from the indigenous peoples from the territories and local spaces, the same that articulate with national and global actions, also present the exercise of self-determination on the law of free and informed prior consultation in the territory.
