An interactive dialogue between Indigenous Peoples delegations and the UN Special Rapporteur on the promotion and protection of Human Rights in the Context of Climate Change

This side event will be carried out in a dialogue format after brief opening remarks. It is intended to assist Indigenous delegations attending COP 27 to understand the mandate and current priorities of this new Special Rapporteur and how to submit relevant communications. It will also provide an opportunity for delegations to share human rights violations they are facing as result of climate change (causes, impacts and responses), and to recommend themes for his upcoming studies. Co-sponsored by IITC and the office of Special Rapporteur.
