We, indigenous and local community women, are the unsung heroes of climate action. As transmitters of ancestral knowledge and custodians of seeds and life, we preserve both biological and cultural diversity. The impacts of climate change on our communities comeafter centuries of oppression, discrimination and gender-based violence. Today, we are uniting forces across the globe to respond to the human crisis we are all facing. It is time for our voices to be heard. Our ancestral wisdom must be recognized and taken into account in the construction of joint solutions to the climate crisis.
