Description
This panel explores nature credits, an innovative tool shaping conservation finance. Nature credits, also called biodiversity credits or biodiversity certificates, present an opportunity to better enable the participation and recognition of Indigenous Peoples and local communities (Ips and LCs) as stewards of nature. Representatives from IPs and LCs, NGOs, standard setters and the private sector will explore the opportunities and challenges of this new approach. This session will also allocate time for stakeholders, particularly Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities to voice opinions and provide input on nature credits.
