Mobile pastoralism for climate change mitigation, ecosystem restoration and resilient food systems

Sustainable Pastoralism generates wealth at the cost of none and to the benefit of all. Pastoralists are strong allies who may play a vital role regarding global challenges, especially climate change. The session is expected to raise awareness of pastoralist issues worldwide and of sustainable pastoralism as a form of climate change mitigation, ecosystem restoration and resilient food systems, to fill knowledge gaps about policies and rights, and about their key role in reducing climate impacts. The event will also emphasize the sound evidence by scientists on the failed association of pastoralist systems with industrial livestock systems, and nomadic peoples and community leaders on the ground from different parts of the globe.
