There are thousands of Indigenous-led and partnered clean energy projects that have been done by and for communities on Turtle Island – Canada. This has been possible due to an evolution of programs, processes, policies and much more. The United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (UNDRIPA) has been enacted in Canada. This roadmap will have lasting impacts on Indigenous clean energy projects in the near future. Through storytelling, examples and open dialogue the “Indigenous Clean Energy Implementation through UNDRIP “session will exemplify how this just clean energy transition has occurred and continues to develop and utilize legislation such as UNDRIP as mechanisms for project implementation.
